Our Mission

The primary mission of the West Hartford Housing Authority is to create and preserve affordable housing for low-income persons and families throughout West Hartford. The Authority works to provide programs and resources for low-income residents, which will assist them in maintaining independent living styles in affordable housing.

The West Hartford Housing Authority's programs are administered in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development. A five member Board of Commissioners establishes the policies and mission. The Town Council appoints all members. The West Hartford Housing Authority's Public Housing Program is designated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a "high performer".
